Saddle Point Technologies have developed many solutions and have delivered some pretty complex solutions to some very prestigious customers. A brief list of some of the case studies are given below.
This project was delivered to an US based food processing company that was setting up a greenfield food processing plant. The entire machine layout was modeled and features like combination of batch and discrete processes, setup time, setup matrix, min/max batch sizes, minimum waiting time, perishability etc. were modeled. Options for multiple scenario planning and evaluation were also provided.
The vehicle routing and scheduling solution developed by Saddle Point was deployed as an API and was integrated with the existing web solution of a service provider in Australia. Many features like multi depot network, vehicle capacity checks, pick up and drop time windows, working hours and break duration of drivers etc. were provided in the solution.
An FMCG company in Sweden was facing lot of difficulties in scheduling its dispatch trucks on its loading bays. This was because of the many constraints that were supposed to be adhered to.The complication in scheduling often resulted in huge delays in dispatching the trucks to the cross docks and thereby trucks arriving late at the customer location.
A leading courier company in the UK was adding new business lines to its portfolio. In order to service the new business, it needed to forecast the space requirement for all its different types of machine, receipt and delivery areas, pickup and parking areas for its delivery vehicles etc.The business requirement was to take the operational inputs and develop a space forecasting solution for a 5 year horizon and highlighting the space bottlenecks that might occur in the future.
A large integrated logistics company needed a solution to forecast its fleet requirement. A composite forecasting model comprising of time series analysis and causal factors was developed to support this requirement. The entire algorithm block consisted of algorithms for data validation and manipulation, tracking of seasonality, trend and cyclicality in the data accurately and algorithms for sporadic and intermittent demand.
This inventory planning and optimization solution was developed to keep accurate records of the incoming stock, issued material and inventory levels at a very detailed level. Features like setting of reorder points, generation of automated purchase requisitions and generation of detailed stock reports were part of this tool.
The objective of this project was to analyse the production data that the firm was receiving from its customers and find out anomalies in the data. Algorithms for data analysis, cleansing and manipulation were developed.
